Dr. Tunji Olowolafe Commissions ICT Centre and Model Secondary School in Ekiti

Nigerian entrepreneur and philanthropist, Dr. Tunji Olowolafe, has unveiled two landmark projects in Are-Ekiti aimed at transforming education and digital literacy: the GOMTECH ICT Centre and the GOMCSS Model Secondary School.

The GOMTECH ICT Centre, a 40-seater facility, is fully equipped with high-speed internet, 24-hour power supply, and advanced security systems. Conceived as part of a broader vision, the centre represents Dr. Olowolafe’s ambition to establish a network of world-class ICT hubs across Nigeria and Africa.

“Our vision for GOMTECH is bold and far-reaching,” Dr. Olowolafe said. “This centre is a proof of concept, showing what is possible when infrastructure, ambition, and the will to empower come together. We are preparing young people not just for today’s opportunities, but for the innovations that will define the future.”

The curriculum at GOMTECH extends beyond basic computer literacy to focus on specialized training in high-demand fields such as IT Support, UX Design, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Digital Marketing, and Project Management. Students are also introduced to frontier technologies including Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and Quantum Computing. To ensure continuous support, each learner receives a unique email ID to track their progress.

Alongside the ICT Centre, Dr. Olowolafe commissioned the GOMCSS Model Secondary School, a modern learning environment with state-of-the-art classrooms, super-fast internet connectivity, and excellent sporting facilities. The school has been handed over to the Ekiti State Ministry of Education to serve as a model for holistic education in the state.“
